What is the GYROTONIC® Method?
The GYROTONIC®Method is a unique movement method that addresses the entire person by opening energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion, and improving strength and movement efficiency. Each movement flows into the next, allowing the joints to move through a natural range of motion without jarring or compression. These carefully crafted sequences create balance, efficiency, strength and flexibility. The method also utilizes specialized equipment to guide, assist, and challenge the exerciser.
People from all walks of life take GYROTONIC®classes, including fitness enthusiasts, senior citizens, accomplished athletes, and people recovering from an injury or dealing with a disability. The exercises help athletes improve their performance, and rehabilitation clients recover more quickly and fully post injury.
Rebecca owns Energyro Studio as a certified GYROTONIC instructor.
Originally from Pueblo, CO Rebecca grew up dancing at the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center School of Dance (where she currently teaches Gyrokinesis) and graduated from County High School. She received her BFA in Contemporary Dance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts where she studied anatomy and kinesiology. Then, she moved to NYC to perform with dance companies like KEIGWIN + CO and create her own choreographic works. This is where she discovered and fell in love with the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM. Rebecca returned home to Pueblo during the pandemic and is excited to share Gyrotonic with the community.
